The Obey x Suicidal Tendencies collabo is the result of collimated energy by two parties that influenced their scenes to a high degree. When the Venice-bred hardcore crew Suicidal Tendencies released their great debut album in 1983, they created a whole new dress code for the hardcore crowd: From this moment on, you couldn't claim to be cool if you didn't sport a bandana that covered your eyebrows and if you use more buttons of your plaid shirt than the one at the collar. Years later, Shepard Fairey created a similar hype when he put cold, socialist-inspired graphics with a Pop Art appeal on tees and changed the ways of street wear aesthetics. Plus, both Obey and Suicidal Tendencies are highly influenced by skateboarding culture. Nuff said, just check these great designs and catch the ST vibe.
